Love Lost City

Hayet, a film director who wants to make a documentary about the city she lives in. She didn’t find the financial means, and her lover Ayoub refuses to help her. Then, she finds herself forced to be a part of a world that doesn’t belong to her.

Synopsis
Hayet, a young filmmaker, is looking for a job to finance her first film. After exhausting all options, she asks her boyfriend Ayoub, who works at a bank, for help in producing the film and making her dream come true. Ayoub refuses her request, believing that neither the film nor the relationship are worth such a risk. Then, Hayet starts working at a beauty center to gather the essential means for her documentary. But she finds herself trapped in an invisible, endless cycle of repetition in this job, which no longer even allows her time to think about her film. It is then that she realizes she is subjected to an exploitative relationship with the center owner. Hayet decides to document this as part of her film. Meanwhile, her relationship with Ayoub grows increasingly strained, until it eventually falls apart completely. Along the way, Hayet quits her job, and in the end, she realizes that she has made every possible sacrifice for her film, but she didn’t achieve her dream.
