A Point of View

A documentary following two young Lebanese men living between Lebanon and France as they navigate migration, identity, and the fragile meaning of belonging.

Between Lebanon and France, two young men—Christopher in Paris and Hicham in Saida—live parallel lives shaped by distance, memory, and aspiration. As they reflect on their choices and uncertainties, their personal stories reveal a shared emotional landscape: the tension of being suspended between where they come from and where they are trying to belong. A Point of View is an intimate documentary about migration, identity, and the quiet search for home.

A Point of View was born from a deeply personal crossroads. Just a month after moving to Paris, I lost my mother. In the aftermath of that loss, I found myself confronted with a question that became impossible to ignore: had I made the right choice in leaving?
This film is my way of exploring that question, not through answers, but through encounters.
Between Lebanon and France, I follow two young Lebanese men: Christopher, based in Paris, and Hicham, in Saida. Though separated by geography, their lives unfold in parallel. Each navigates the emotional and practical realities of migration: the distance from home, the weight of expectation, and the constant negotiation between past and future.
Through intimate interviews, observational moments, and contrasting landscapes, the film traces their inner worlds as much as their external ones. What emerges is not a linear story of departure or arrival, but a suspended state, an existence shaped by in-betweenness.
At its core, A Point of View is not only about Christopher and Hicham, but about a wider condition shared by many who leave: Lebanese artists, migrants, and young people caught between belonging and becoming. It reflects on identity not as something fixed, but as something continuously redefined through distance, memory, and loss.
Ultimately, A Point of View asks a question that lingers beyond the film itself: when we leave, do we ever truly arrive elsewhere, or do we remain forever suspended between two worlds?
