Wind-Lab: Short film development

Wind-Lab is a new program that provides filmmakers with hands-on training and mentoring to take their film concepts through the process of developing an outstanding short film script for production. Welcomes submissions of all genres (Doc, fic, exp, etc.) of short films in development and pre-production phase, and we extremely encourage autobiographical projects.

Wind-Lab will be mentored by Claire Fondain and Rand Abou Fakher.

Eligible Candidates for Wind-Lab is open to applications:

– From Arab directors and producers living in the Arab region or the diaspora.

– Applications are accepted irrespective of age, years of experience, country of residence, ethnicity, gender, or religion.

– Filmmakers have at least 18 years of age
– Self-identify as an early-career or emerging filmmaker interested in artistic growth.

– Selected filmmakers commit to participating in regular mentorship and lab activities like One-on-one meetings and weekly group workshop sessions.

Some of the projects will receive a sales and distribution agreement or/and creative production agreement as acquisition awards after the Lab.

For our first edition, we will be inviting some artists to expand the concepts around short films in all phases of creation.   

All selected applicants will be notified in the 4th week of September and will be charged 150€ as a fee of participation.

Wind-Lab will run from 1st October 2023 – 30 October 2023 (online, where projects carriers engage in discussions and masterclasses and workshop their creative projects).

Wind-Lab is presented by Wind Cinéma, which is a France based international film production and distribution company, has WOD – Wind on demand platform. Aiming to distribute, produce, co-produce and sell challenging arthouse and autobiographical films by emerging Syrian and Arab artists.
