Elyes Jeridi is a filmmaker and teacher-researcher, born on September 14, 1992, in Sousse, Tunisia. His academic career led him to a BA in English Literature and Civilization at the Université des Lettres de Sousse, followed by a BA in Directing at ISAMM in Tunis, and a Master’s degree in Cinema at the Université de Caen Normandie in France. His film work focuses on auteur documentaries, essays, and experimental films. His short film, Fabula, received the Serge Daney Prize in Paris, a nomination at the La Première Fois Festival in Marseille, and a special mention at the Khouribga African Film Festival. Alongside his artistic practice, he teaches film history, film analysis, and montage theory. He is currently working on a doctoral thesis entitled “Fragments of Life: Love, Loss, and Violence in the Works of Jia Zhangke, Diao Yinan, and Lou Ye,” a study of the cinema of the Chinese sixth generation.
